CWA donation helps disaster response

A $2000 donation from the Darwin branch of the Country Women's Association helped put a smile on the faces of sick children treated by the AUSMAT medical team in Tacloban last year.

The donation allowed the AUSMAT to purchase art and craft supplies tp help distract the paediatic patients undergoing treatment for injuries sustained as a result of Typhoon Haiyan.

The young patients treated were among the 2700 treated in the month-long stay by the AUSMAT field hospital in November 2013.

Representatives from the Country Women's Association visited the NCCTRC warehouse in Darwin to view the deployable hospital in February this year. It also gave the staff of the NCCTRC an opportunity to thank the CWA members personally for their donation.
